What is your view of the monetary system in the US today? In the Constitution, Article I Section 10, says it forbids the States from making anything but gold and silver a legal tender in payment of debts. Somewhere along the line Congress decided they could circumvent their Constitutional powers and create legal tender. It is spelled out in section of US Code, 31 USC 5103, that establishes US coins and currency, including Federal Reserve notes, as legal tender. Basically, we need to return to the monetary system spelled out in the Constitution and remove the influence and power of the central banking system. |
